The Autumn Fragrance Collection

It’s been a bit of a while since I’ve written about any of my favourite fragrances, and throughout the year my collection has definitely grown and altered a little- so thought I’d pop a little post together talking about some of my signature scents and the ones that not only get worn every day, but hold a little sentiment to them too.

The first scent I’ve been wearing near enough non stop since late July is ‘Replica Beach Walk’ by Maison Margiela. In my opinion, it’s the perfect light, clean and slightly summery scent- which, although isn’t what you’d expect someone to love in Autumn (when typically things are oudy, tobacco based and smokey)- it reminds me of summer, and anything with bergamot, lemon and ylang ylang in always rates highly for me. On top of that, it was kindly sent customised to remind me of my summer beach holiday in Cornwall this year (which you can also do here)- which makes it even more special.

Notes to note: Bergamot, lemon, pink pepper, ylang ylang, coconut milk, musk, heliotrope- light, airy and a little bit citrusy

(I’ve also been in love with Elizabeth & James’ Nirvana White compact too- such a beautiful light floral musk scent, and the perfect way of carrying it on the go. It’s my first proper introduction to the brand, and this is truly gorgeous).

Another new love comes from Fresh. Although I’ve only ever really known the brand for their expert skincare (their Soy Cleanser will forever be a solid favourite)- after visiting their Marylebone Boutique earlier this month, discovered their fragrance collection is more than modest indeed. With rows of scents lining the shelves, the brand have over 13 scents (with some exclusives) and I particularly fell in love with their Citron de Vigne eau de parfum (and being a non-drinker can promise it wasn’t the champagne influences that sold me either)! With the scent being largely governed by fruity notes and hints of neroli- it’s something different to my typical circusy favourites, but equally as lovely.

Notes to note: Neroli, bitter orange, lemongrass, with bottom notes of patchouli and sandalwood- earthy and fruity altogether!

One scent I’ve had in my collection since my birthday in June, is Diptyque’s ‘no. 34’, or L’Eau du trente-quatre from their 34 Collection (the number of their Saint-Germain flagship store). I hadn’t really tried many of the brands perfumes before (having been a candle lady through and through) but this woody, floral scent (with hints of blackcurrant) combines everything I love, whilst still being a little bit dark and sexy too. Again, having received it the night before my birthday, also holds lots of memories from a really special time this year too.

Notes to note: Florals, blackcurrant buds, moss and wood.

I know I’ve already waxed lyrical about the new Chanel Gabrielle fragrance and Jo Malone’s English Oak and Hazlenut scents- so I’ll save you the nattering (you can find an in-depth post about Gabrielle here and Jo Malone here)- but trust me when I say these two new Autumnal additions have quickly made favourites for a reason. Not only is Joe also wearing English Oak and Hazelnut (it’s unisex dontchaknow)- but Gabrielle has quickly become a love of my mums too, and with them both having quite the nose (in taste, not size)- I know these will quickly become the striped top equivalent in my perfume wardrobe, if ever I had one.

Notes to note Gabrielle: Orange blossom, ylang-ylang, jasmine and Grasse tuberose.

Notes to note English Oak and Hazelnut: Green hazelnut, cedar wood and oak- a little more woody than my normal scents but deliciously Autumnal without being too deep.

And finally, one of mew newest discoveries! Having always been a fan of the Victor & Rolf fragrances (I’m sure everyone has had a sniff of the dreamy Flowerbomb), it was Dancing Roses from their Magic collection that caught my eye recently. Not only is the bottle beautiful (and apparently inspired by ones from old pharmacies) but the scent is sweeter and more floral than anything I normally go for, or have before. With a combination of sweet cherry, rose petals and musk- it’s an unusually special combination- and although not the most budget friendly of perfumes, truly see it as a welcome addition and a branch into something a little more playful and feminine too.

Notes to note: Rose, pink pepper, brandy, sour cherry, tonka bean, musk

Wow these all sound amazing – especially the Diptyque one because I love the candle! My favourite scent right now is a Dior one called Balade Sauvage!

I loved the Victor and Rolf magic collection when I was in Harrods a little bit back but actually had forgotten about them. Thankyou for the reminder! I’m heading into London tomorrow so maybe I’ll have another look! xxx
