From The Archive: 2016

The year of travel- from Aus to Africa- as well as some of my favourite ever photos, I hope 2016 brings a small dose of wanderlust (and fashion inspiration if not)!

Golden Hour

(Dress, Bag, Shoes: All C/O Anthropologie)

There’s something about getting dressed up at the end up of a sticky summers day that has something a little more special than it than normal. Whether you’re fresh (or not so) from the Bakerloo line, to the shower and into a favourite dress, preparing for an evening reception in something a little more loose; or even channeling somewhat of a flower fairy (see below) for a garden party- there’s something about hitting golden hour and knowing you have a couple of hours of sunshine still left that feels pretty wonderful indeed.

So, let me introduce you to a couple of key pieces in my wardrobe from Anthropologie that have made the above all the more exciting. With Anthropologie usually being my stop for all things home ware and gifting- spotting their Summer collection was positively exciting, and it’s safe to say I rapidly fell in love with the delicate shapes, unique prints, and remarkable attention to detail (which is without even mentioning the accessories)! First up was this little-navy-dress. Perfect for everything from dinner to dancing- I loved the way the gold of the bag and shoes bought out the lighter accents of the dress, and took it from being something that would look equally as gorgeous with sandals, to a real stand out piece…

…And then for the pink! This dress ticks every box when it comes to the perfect summer evening gown. With it’s midi length, V-back and ruffled sleeves- it’s loose enough to feel fuss-free, but long enough to pass for everything from wedding-guest dressing to beach-side cocktails too (and I am all for versatile dressing too)- now to make some special plans (and cross my fingers for sunshine)!
