From The Archive: 2016

The year of travel- from Aus to Africa- as well as some of my favourite ever photos, I hope 2016 brings a small dose of wanderlust (and fashion inspiration if not)!

I Cannes believe it’s not France!

Perhaps I should have called this outfit ‘what I’d have worn in Cannes had I gone’ (you know I have a serious love of coordinating outfits to locations)- but alas, these snaps were taken during mine and Joe’s weekend away to Manchester, and a tiny secluded pub in the Northern Quarter. It’s not quite the film previews, fast cars and marble-staired hotels of Cannes (and I’m not sure I spotted Ryan Gosling in Manc)- but it’s safe to say I seriously fell in love with the city (to the point where Joe did do some double takes at estate-agent windows kind of love). So yeah, it was serious.

Although we’re not planning on eloping to the North just yet, for our first day of exploring and sampling the local delicacies (read: judging whether Home Sweet Home really is better than Almost Famous) I pulled out a couple of picks from a rummage at London-love, Blitz Vintage. I’ve recently reacquainted my love of second-hand and vintage shopping (which, ironically, was certainly cemented on this trip to Manchester) so channeling a certain Parisian look in my new favourite UK city seemed perfectly suitable. That was until the rain came- but perhaps a t-shirt in May was a little optimistic anyway…
