Over the last couple of months I’ve acquired quite the collection of beautiful new seasonal launches, from Spring exclusives built solely for the warmer months, colour updates in warmer pinks and oranges and a host of palettes that I’m gradually making little dents in and gradually falling in love with. So, for once, I thought I’d share some of my favourite pickings with you, which, I promise aren’t just pretty on the outside. It’s what inside that counts, right?
Let’s begin! The main bulk of my face routine has had a little refresh for Spring, with (unashamedly) most new loves coming straight from YSL. Although I’ve used their foundations in the past (and enjoyed using them then) the combination of their newest Touche Eclat Le Teint (in the shade BR10), Touche Eclat Blur Primer (which is so, so beautiful under the skin) and miracle redness-reducing colour neutralizer has completely changed the confidence I have with my skin, especially when it’s being a little temperamental. I’ve also been turning to the gorgeous Smashbox L.A Lights blush palette which is absolutely stunning (and ridiculously pigmented) and this cute-as-a-button Bare Minerals brush to throw it all on with (in a more glamorous way, naturally).
Now on to the real summer go-getters. It was only last year that I finally started understanding the hype around Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess. Although I am perpetually late to any make-up party, this scent really smells like a summer holiday (think light florals, vanilla and coconut)- so although I did first smell it on the way to Ibiza in Duty Free- it’s definitely coming straight back into my routine this summer. Another item that screams summer lovin’ more than a certain Grease song is this Tom Ford Soliel Contouring Compact, in a beautiful three way neopolitan style palette which is perfect for adding a subtle dash of contour and blush without going for a total bronzed babe look. Finally- on to lips! I’ve been beginning most mornings with this YSL Rouge Volupte Shine balm (in Baume Midi Minuit), piling on this Revlon Colourstay Lip Liner in Blush, and topping up with this nourishing Suquu Lip Crayon in ex-02 which is the perfect colour/moisture balance.
Let’s talk all things shady- or, erm, shadowy! I’ve always been pretty safe with my shadows- but over the last few weeks have started mixing up my neutrals and introducing more pinks, mixed rose colours as well as some browns; opposed to my standard pale gold tones. To help achieve this I’ve been loving using the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess palette for day-to-day subtle looks, and the Bare Minerals for more amped up glitter looks (for days where I’m feeling fancy). Also! If you’re after a huge colour selection with your make up choice I hugely recommend a visit to new London store 3ina, where I picked up the bottom two shades- and who also have the best colour selection ever…
