When it comes to going shopping, I’d consider myself pretty well versed. I can usually walk straight into a shop, clear on what I’m after and walk out minutes later, receipt in hand (and smug look a go-go). However, when it comes to spending money carefully, knowing what will last me and not being overly impulsive, I’ve been known to struggle. I’ve also been known to shun any assistance, in thought that ‘I usually know best’ (I know, I know). However, after hearing about several personal shopping services across the ‘net, it was time to bite the bullet. Having worked with Westfield London closely over the last few months, it made sense to pay their wonderful Personal Styling service a visit, to make true use of everything on offer (and pick up some pretty lovely investment pieces whilst at it). With Autumn around the corner (I did not just say that), I had transitional pieces on my agenda, and things to see me through from this ‘is-it-hot-is-it-cold’ stage, through to full on tights weather…
Putting your sartorial trust in someone else’s hands can be a bit of a step for stubborn shoppers, but if this experience has taught me anything, it’s that taking someone new’s advice can be truly worthwhile.
After all, I’d like to think a personal shopper is just like having a great mate with you when in the shops- someone to offer an honest opinion, justify your purchases and keep you upbeat- definitely something I’ll be looking to do again!
