Last week, in a moment of impulse and incredible ideas (my mum suggested Joe and I fly out to Ibiza to surprise my dad on their holiday- the best idea), we jetted out to Ibiza- for two days of sun, sea, (a little bit of) sand and (plenty of dress) swooshing. Having not had a poolside break in around two years, two days sans laptop and in the company of my favourite people was a wonderful treat, especially when said people aren’t expecting your arrival (cue tears and a lot of ‘So, when you said you couldn’t pick up? AH!’). Anyway, although they’ll be another post to come about that (packed with sentimentality and all things soppy)- I thought I’d show you some of the snaps Joe and I took on our last evening on the island, in one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe.
Picked up during a visit to the Beyond Retro Dalston store a few months ago, it seemed like fate to spot this black, strapless lacey number hanging in the shop (Bardot neckline? Check. Mid-length? Check? Perfect cut? Check). Why fate? Okay, so although it fits perfectly (which is certainly something in itself with vintage shopping)- the inside of the label boasts a tag marking the name ‘Olivia’- be it a brand, designer or name tag- I thought it pretty cool (coincidence? I think not!) and quickly hot footed it to Plum, exclaiming I’d found my ‘dream dress’! Huzzah! This also leads me nicely on to a campaign Beyond Retro are running under the same guise (#mydreamvivintagedress), where they’re stocking out their stores, and online, with as many vintage dresses as possible (this, in numbers, is around 10,000), meaning they’re pretty certain they have a dream vintage dress for everyone. They also have a cheeky competition where you could win £250 to spend on ALL the dream vintage dresses in store, plus an overnight stay at The Hoxton Shoreditch- not bad right? Plus, if I can find my dream dress- I’m pretty sure you can too.
