Without sounding like a complete cliché , it’s fair to say July has flown by- especially considering it spoils us with a whole 31 days! The weather has been absolutely beautiful (albeit a couple of scary thunderstorms, which won’t be making this months favourites) but I’ve truly enjoyed getting a bit of colour and enjoying the most perfect stay cation with my family in the sunshine! We also ~may~ have gone to visit a certain little puppy which ~may~ be joining the Purvis’- but let’s keep that for September favourites! ; )
This months beauty favourites include an old gem, in the shape of this Soap and Glory
highlighter– which has even made pasty-faced me look a little glowing! I’ve also been pairing that with the new Glamore collection lippies from Illamasqua which are absolutely beautiful, and will definitely become handbag staples! Other lip and cheek products include the new Chubby sticks from Clinique which include some seriously stunning peach shades that I’ve been using as blush alternatives, and make for a pretty dewy look. In the evenings and after a morning wash I’ve been using the Origins GinZing moisturiser which smells divine and is super nourishing, as well as the Well Off eye make up remover, which is wonderfully gentle- with the Body Shop body sorbet as an ice cream inspired all over body treat- mmm! For my hair I’ve also given the new Bumble & Bumble Invisible Oil travel set, as recommended by Myla & Davis a spin- which has certainly stopped my hair from getting so split and heavy, I think it may be love.
If you can tell anything from the above, it’s that quirky accessories have seen me through the month. Wether it’s been my go-to Charlotte Olympia bag or these awesome Office shoes– it’s safe to say that my go-to shoes ‘n’ bag motto has been ‘more is more’! I also treated myself to some seriously bad ass prints from Oh Gosh Cindy– who is one of the coolest illustrators out there, and someone who I could buy from again and again. In terms of reading material, I’ve loved flicking through this Blogging edition of Mollie Makes (so useful) and this Jamie Oliver mag packed with amazing recipes and inspiring styling ideas! Plus, I very rarely cry at books (the last time I did I was probably reading Jacqueline Wilson)- but this book by Giovanna Fletcher really pulled on my heartstrings, and oozed the perfect balance of romance, plot and wonderful characters that you really fall in love with, and I’ve already ordered her next novel to get stuck in to- which I’ll be partnering with this Kusmi tea (which has truly converted my to using a tea pot again- huzzah)! I must also take a moment to mention the amazing new Gorilla perfume collection from Lush. Although the fragrances are something different to your standard floral/fruit scents, these smells are distinctive, arty, beautiful and packed with the most wonderful stories behind them, which truly make them something different and collectable.
