A year full time and city guides a-plenty, my first venture into YouTube and a baby puppy addition- 2014 was an exciting one!

Keep on running…

I know my blog is usually a place of things often twee, pink and sugary- but today’s post is going to be a little different. Slightly less pink, a lot less sugar filled (not unless we’re talking running fuel) a little more serious- but hopefully something you’ll still find as inspiring as anything else I’ve ever put work into on here- and something I really wanted to share with you guys.

One of the most inspiring things I find in life, is being able to muster the strength, training and motivation to run- or complete any kind of marathon or course- and even more so, do it for a good cause. It’s something I’ve toyed with so many times- but have never been able to get myself to do. This year my dad (formerly someone who could only ever run around the block) will be doing his sixth London Marathon, and being a cause that I feel so strongly about thought I’d post on here- in hope some of you may want to click over, perhaps donate (if every reader donated just 50p we could probably do a pretty awesome thing)- but of course- and over and above everything, just raise a little awareness!

As some of you may or may not know, my dad has his own barbershop (yup, it’s pretty cool) and has gotten to know, and become friends with people from childhood to adulthood- one of them being Ozzie, a 28 year old primary school teacher and all round lovely hardworking guy. Tragically, around Christmas, Ozzie passed away at the scarily young age of 28 after rapidly contracting meningitis- something myself, and a lot of people didn’t even know could happen at such a fast pace, and something I hope we can raise some awareness for on this little piece of the net. So if you get a spare 5 minutes would absolutely love to check out my dad’s Just Giving page and have a read, and if you can, donate.

On top of that, one of the loveliest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting since blogging, Cesca, has also recently done something amazing for another charity close to my heart, Motor Neurone Disease- by completing The Major Series with some other top ladies- so would love if you could click over here and learn a little about what she’s done. She’s another one of the most hardworking and kind people I know- so she deserves it. Do it for the sisterhood y’all!

Annnd breathe! If you’ve read the whole of this post, thank you so, so much- normal service will resume tomorrow.
