From The Archive: 2013

With magazine placements on the side, 2013 was the last year I juggled blogging as a side gig. Things get a bit girlier in the style department too, with a lorra love for the sixties and a 'hive!

It’s not often I can kick back, throw on some wellies and take a relaxed stroll (or mini adventure) around the park. To me, wellies are usually limited to, and saved solely for festival season (and after doing a year in Dr Martens, wouldn’t have it any other way) which, until recently I was completely ok with. However- queue winter weather and the promise of ‘squally showers’ and things change a little. During wet weather, I seem to be a serial bad-shoe wearer and normally opt for the most impractical shoe choices (we’re talking velvet and ballet flats)- but no more! The satisfaction of being able to throw on the worlds most carefree shoe (and completely embrace silly socks) is something I can get used to this season, thanks Havaianas!

Also, I’m pretty certain it isn’t just me who has lusted after one of Bella Freud’s beautiful jumpers of late? I’ve had my eye on the 1970 one- and don’t even begin me on the Jane Birkin inspired knit! Luckily for me, I can lust (little to) no more as the lovely Bella has teamed up with one of my favourite heritage brands, Barbour, to work on a more country themed collection! With a slightly lower price point(if you happen to overdone the Christmas shopping a little) and seriously adorable designs- it’s safe to say I’m pretty ready for winter and all it’s weathery goodness (ahem)!
