From The Archive: 2013

With magazine placements on the side, 2013 was the last year I juggled blogging as a side gig. Things get a bit girlier in the style department too, with a lorra love for the sixties and a 'hive!

Ladies behind the sidebar – August 2013

sujuu
I’m constantly trying to be more ethical and ‘do good’ in my lifestyle- whether it be clothing, turning the lights off, recycling or buying vintage- it’s not always easy. But give me a gorgeous accessories brand like Sujuu– who not only stock and have some gorgeous jewellery brands like Cinderela B and Mirabelle on board- but have some stunning scarves (made to support local communities in Kyrgyzstan)- plus, if you check them out don’t forget to grab 15% off with code ‘WHATOLIVIADID’- you can’t go wrong.

thecinnamonslipper
The Cinnamon Slipper comes straight from the beautiful and incredibly talented lady that is Rebecca. Her blog documents her adventures into the world of fashion and upcoming trends (she even makes me own frocks)- as well as lots of beautiful lifestyle based posts that will have you lusting after vintage inspired dresses (this girl has ’40s and ’50s style down to a tee), Kent seaside and English countryside adventures and a vintage shopping trip, pronto. Plus, her outfit posts are some of my favourite on the net- those cars…

TENTATIVE
Tentative Decisions is an absolutely magical online Aladdin’s cave, filled with semi precious and raw crystal gems which will leave you seeing stars. This site is one site to bookmark and head to when a simple gold chain just isn’t satisfactory. From shimmery double banded rings adorned with the most beautiful amethysts (they are as gorgeous as they sound) quartz collars to droplet rainbow crystals that add the perfect bohemian sparkle to any outfit – this little shop has some real handmade treasures and all for incredible value for money. P.S They currently have a 50% sale on, need I say more…

mille n mae
Having featured this gorgeous jewellery store on my blog before, and having coveted many of their pieces since they began just recently- Millie ‘n’ Mae are my go to for on budget finishing touches to outfits- whether it be jewellery (Zodiac and cutlery necklaces have my heart), kitsch rings, sequined shirt collars to melt your sparkly heart or Liberty print hair bows (the perfect finishing touch for my ‘hive). This lovely retailer also homes my favourite Me & Zena- so if the already thriving selection isn’t quite enough for you (as if) you can indulge in one of their gorgeous pieces too- don’t mind if I do…

Sophie’s beautiful blog, Simple Sophie is the prettiest lifestyle blog bought to you by a girl with lots of passions (including stunning photography and cooking), a love for cats and who resides in Leeds (so good it’s shortlisted in the Cosmo Awards too)! Although described as essentially a lifestyle blog, Sophie’s little corner of the internet oozes brilliant (and pretty impressive) recipes, playlists, perfectly put together outfits and trips to some of her favourite hide outs in the North, South and abroad (which are definitely worth taking note of- Waffle House, yes please). A girl after my own heart, Sophie is an expert at styling a good hat/floral crown and I can promise her blog will have you scrolling for hours.

Nowadays finding the perfect online boutique, which is well priced can be pretty tricky. That is, however, until you come across the beautiful Olive and Frank. With items described as ‘fun, inspiring and unique’ with a bevy of vintage inspired pieces, talented founder Chloe makes sure this cute boutique shop is fully stocked with the most interesting and original pieces. With covetable pieces including an embroidered smock dress, chunky platform boots (’90s at its best), the sweetest gingham cut out frock and more jewellery than even the biggest magpie could wish for (which is saying something)- you’ll just have to see it to believe it- plus most is on sale! Yes.
