From The Archive: 2013

With magazine placements on the side, 2013 was the last year I juggled blogging as a side gig. Things get a bit girlier in the style department too, with a lorra love for the sixties and a 'hive!

In a lot of ways, Sunday’s are my favourite day of the week. Apart from Monday morning around the corner there’s nothing more I enjoy being sprawled out on the sofa/on my bed, catching up on the weeks television and indulging in crumpets and bottomless cups of tea. I wore this get-up last Sunday when meeting the completely lovely Kitty and Nathan for a play date (which ended in me falling asleep to Harry Potter on their sofa after too much food and obviously feeling far too much at home!) but this is the typical comfortable get up that I turn to on a Sunday (unless, of course my pjs aren’t in the wash). I guess you could also say I’m a pretty big home girl. Heck, what am I saying I am a home girl all over (best said in a Southern country accent). I enjoy nothing more than cosying up for a ‘night-in’ and call me boring- but my DVD collection won’t watch itself. So, when Costa Bingo got in touch asking if I fancied a sponsored night in- Pizza Hut, films and bingo et al how could I resist, my inner old biddy did a cartwheel. ..

So, with a best pal in tow we dined on Pizza Hut (which I hadn’t had since I was about 11, gorging in the ice cream factory), piled on our favourite tartan jammies and got stuck in to a feast of garlic bread, Wes Anderson (his films, not him) and a mini bingo set, making us feel positively like LOL’s (little old ladies, duh) and the perfect remedy for a cosy ol’ Friday night.

P.S Wishing Papa P a massive Happy Birthday today!

and here’s what I wore…
