A year of fewer questionable outfit choices, I finally found my blogging groove in 2012, and here you can find some favourite pieces, band interviews as they first appeared and a lot of hats too...

Christmas Gift Guide 2012…

I know, I know- this is a last minute guide- but after asking the elders of the internet it seemed a few of you wouldn’t mind some more ‘week-before-Christmas’ present ideas- so I couldn’t help myself (plus I love a good browse, me). Additionally, I’ve done it all with each gift coming in under £20- because let’s face it- we can’t all afford designer leather card holders and cashmere Long Johns. So, below you can see a small selection of my very favourite online picks, both from wonderful independent sellers and my go-to high street honeys (yes, I know I said honeys)- so do have a peek, and Happy Shopping!

Ladies…

(1. The White Pepper, 2. Monki, 3. Topshop, 4. Not on the high street, 5. Urban Outfitters, 6. ASOS, 7. Present and Correct, 8. Newsstand)

Okay, so above are my pick of the more ‘girlie’ items. I’ve opted for these RAD cat tights from my new online BFFL The White Pepper, this cute pink leather bag from Monki (£8!!), the inevitable but always usable nail kit, a (sadly) non edible macaroon trinket box, two of the cutest rings known to earth (kind of), a kitsch notebook and my favourite magazine (if you’re super kind you could even do a subscription!)

Gents…

(1. Topman, 2. Topman, 3. Urban Outfitters, 4. Topman, 5. Lazy Oaf, 6. Firebox, 7. Waterstones, 8. Selfridges (but most American Apparel stores do this)

I tried to do the guys one with a little help from Joe, who informed me novelty socks and jewellery (subtle chains) can be good as ‘it’s not really something boys buy for themselves’. Going on that mantra, I opted for a very very handy 90’s trivia game (forever spicing up the commute), some fun accessories for the trendy Wendy’s, a book you can ruin and do boisterous things with, novelty socks (well, duh), a bobble hat, an iPod plug in speaker amp (this rated ‘pretty cool’ in Joe’s book), a big fact book and Dr Bonner’s magic 18-use soap (yes, you can brush your teeth ad do your laundry with it, boys!)

I hope these have proved marginally useful- and if so let me know if you make any sly purchases, I’d love to know!
