Many moons ago, when ‘What Olivia Did’ was just a twinkle in my pre-blogging eyes, I became accustomed to visiting a certain few blogs for moments of inspiration, which, soon lulled me into beginning my own. Two of my most visited were those of
Carrie and
Lucy; two of which projected such unique and beautiful style, partnered with equally delicious photography- making them two must visits on my bookmark list. Fast forward a mere couple of years and those blogs have dreamt up and created something equally as lovely; Wish Magazine. A magazine by girls like you and me, for girls like you and me with a ‘peter pan complex’ and an offering far more enriching than anything on your local newspaper stand.
So, when an invitation dropped through my letter box a week or so ago, I did a little squeal (and a little ‘happy dance’). I couldn’t wait to see the creation in the flesh, and was intrigued as to see what made it so different from magazines out there today…
… and what can I say. It didn’t disappoint. As beautiful as both the girls blogs, with each feature, photograph and paragraph filled with interesting, relatable and exciting words and thoughts, fashion shoots filled with whimsical (and affordable) clothes, and unique and exciting places to visit- it felt like YOU too, be ‘Wish’ girl, and boy I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy and be one too.
The launch party was nothing short of amazing too. With attention to detail laced upon every last red velvet cupcake, bunting shaped shortbread biscuit and paper flower, it felt like you were in a little fairy world- where everything was almost too good to eat. With perfume and fragrance testing from Penthaligon’s, a personalised Wish Cocktail adorned with Hendrick’s, knitting classes and live illustrators to hand; it was nothing short of a perfect Sunday afternoon. Oh for every Sunday to be as magical! Well done ladies!
Wish Magazine will be on sale from Monday 21st of May, through Carrie’s blog here.
